Lauren Brasher, MS, LPC (82663)
A counselor is a client's true ally. Someone who is actively invested in understanding your experiences, emotions, and behaviors can be a powerful tool in helping guide you toward change. The genuine connection between counselor and client can foster a better understanding of self and lead the client to take charge of their own life path. I am honored to be some small part of a client’s journey towards fulfillment. To me, each person's differences make the world a more vibrant place. I hope to celebrate what makes each client unique and also build a connection to what makes us all human.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with clients to help make sense of how
our hearts and heads are reacting to the world around us. Therapy can be like a science experiment in which we treat identified life problems by gathering information, forming hypotheses, and strategizing solutions. I also use techniques of Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to aid the process of change. I believe that while it is not easy, we are capable of changing our behaviors, thoughts, and emotions with the right set of tools.
