Jenny Burkholder, PhD, LMFT (201540), LPC (70895)

Struggle is not failure, and it’s not the end of your story. Struggle is an opportunity to learn about ourselves, reach-out to others for connection and support, and tap-into our inner strength. I believe in the resilience of people and the human capacity to overcome even the most difficult of circumstances.

When not reaching our full potential, I believe we are stuck in maladaptive patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. With my client, we explore how these negative patterns might have developed and may be blocking their achievement of goals in the present. I help the client (often through EMDR therapy) tap-in to their own power to heal, often leading to the adoption of new insights, more positive core beliefs, and reactions to others and events that are more adaptive and in-line with their values.

Counseling is not about giving advice but about genuinely connecting, fostering understanding, and enhancing empowerment. The client is the most powerful instrument for change, and the counseling process offers the ideal environment for transformation to happen. I would feel privileged to be a part of your journey towards growth, acceptance, and new perspective.
