"Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air...but only for one second without hope”-Hal Lindsey. While there is life, there is hope, and I’m here to assist individuals, couples, and families regain that hope in themselves.
I have an integrated therapeutic approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. In the therapeutic relationship, I am a facilitator of change, not a dictator; the client is responsible for implementing the changes. Growth is often gradual and must be genuinely desired for it to occur. My goal is to help clients best integrate what they learn in therapy into their everyday lives.
I believe this profession chose me, and I truly enjoy seeing others progress and flourish in a safe therapeutic environment. I look forward to helping you discover the path to healthy social functioning!
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor in the state of Texas, and I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I have provided individual, couple, group and family therapy in various settings, including schools, military bases, and agencies. Most of my career has consisted of helping men and women with PTSD, depression and anxiety stemming from trauma, including combat and sexual assault.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to music, meditation, and laughing! I’ve learned to laugh at myself and it’s been my secret to a healthy life.
